Eric Mikel has been a part of organized soccer since 1988. As a player,  Eric was a part of two state championship teams and a Christian Indiana all star championship team. Eric went on to start in the goal for four years for Cornerstone University and played one year of semi professional soccer with Grand Rapids Explosion.

Eric has been coaching since 1999.  He has been head coach at the collegiate level and Premier club teams.  He's been on coaching staffs that have made it to the NAIA National Tournament at the collegiate level,  two state runner ups at the high school level and one Presidents Cup National runner up at the club level.

Coach Eric is equally excited to use the game of soccer to bring the word of God to life for his team with goals to use the Word and the game to help develop mature, image bearers of Jesus Christ.

B.J. George brings a deep love for the game and a strong desire to invest in student-athletes both athletically and spiritually. He played four years of collegiate soccer and has spent the past 15 years in vocational youth ministry, mentoring young men and women to pursue excellence in their faith, character, and calling.

The 2025 season marks his first year coaching with the West Michigan Heat. He considers it a true honor to serve under Coach Eric and alongside the leadership board. He is excited to contribute to a program that is not only known for competing at the highest level—regularly reaching national championships—but also for its unwavering commitment to honoring Christ in every aspect of the sport.

He is passionate about helping players grow in discipline, unity, and confidence—both on and off the field—and looks forward to all that God has in store for this season and beyond.

Coach Scott was honored to join the Heat coaching staff in 2019 and assist in the JV State Championship.

After playing soccer at a young age, Scott rediscovered a passion for the game as an AYSO coach. He decided to be a student of the game by studying books and consuming countless videos and podcasts as well as time on the field learning the techniques for himself in order to effectively train his players. He was honored to be one of the three inaugural coaches for AYSO United where he successfully coached his teams through two divisions in three seasons. Scott holds a U.S. Soccer E License.

Andy is excited to join the Heat JH team as an assistant coach in 2023. He is so impressed with the "family aspect" of Heat and hopes he can contribute to it. He is passionate about how pushing oneself and communication on the field can translate into an incredible team effort and community on and off the soccer field.  Andy played soccer throughout high school and college and had his share of regional championships. He is excited about his first coaching endeavor. Helping young men to learn valuable life lessons and how to be more like Jesus through the game of soccer are just a few things he hopes to address.

Andy and his wife Lea have two boys and spend a lot of time being involved with their church family, homeschooling, and playing soccer at home. In his spare time, Andy loves fishing, hunting, cooking, and playing ping pong.

We are looking for mature, Christian men who have a passion for training young men as they develop their love for the game of soccer and their devotion to Jesus Christ as their Lord.
